Biography

Although I have been making photographs for almost 50 years, I did not start showing them and making them available for purchase until 2001.

My subject matter varies widely – seascapes, city shots, flower close-ups, mountains, forests, and the patterns I find in rusty industrial equipment or crabpots.

In the relatively short time that I have been showing them, my photographs have garnered a number of awards at local shows (Seattle Professional Photographers’ Association, Silverdale Invitational, Kitsap County Fair), and one was published (full page) in Popular Photography. My work is shown regularly at Collective Visions gallery in Bremerton and at the Kingston Art Gallery.

My non-photography life has included two years in Brazil in the early days of the Peace Corps; six years on the staff of a labor union; a quarter of a century teaching economics at Bellevue Community College; and a pioneering role in that college’s online education program. I have lived in the Northwest for almost thirty years and in Kingston since 1999.
